BULLS FOR COMMERCIAL CATTLEMEN

We sell bulls to commercial cattle producers.

Our clients want a live calf from every cow every year.

Calves must grow rapidly until they are sold.

To command a market premium steers must have have high yielding carcasses that marble

BULLS THAT ARE READY TO WORK

All bulls are veterinary checked prior to sale. They have sound reproductive organs and feet and legs. They have had the full range of required vaccinations.

We aim to sell our two year old bulls at about 650 - 800 kilos weight in good working order. Our experience is that bulls much heavier than that at this age are prone to breaking down relatively early in their life.

For the same reasons we prepare our yearling bulls to be about 500 kilos on sale day.

THE EXPERIENCE OF USERS OF KILBURNIE BULLS

Our clients regularly report good conception rates using our bulls with the bulk of calves arriving early.

We get reports of heifer calvings that have gone well with few if any assists. We do not get reports of serious calving difficulties.

At weaner sales some of our regular clients have very good results. On a cents/kilo basis, they have regularly achieved high prices at sales in Inverell, Armidale and Tamworth. Increasingly weaners are sold through Auctionsplus and are well received.

We try to follow through on the performance of clients cattle and receive positive reports on the performance of cattle sold direct to processors.

All our bulls when sold are ready for service and have been health tested and subjected to an independent veterinary and health examination. We have an independent external assessor conduct a structural and physical examination of all our bulls prior to finalising the catalogue.

We produce and sell bulls with some of the highest measured performance in Australia. The bar chart on the home page of this web site tells the story.

GENETIC SUPERIORITY, GENETIC DIVERSITY AND NEW BLOOD IN THE KILBURNIE HERD

We use the genetically most superior (highest indexing) animals in the breed in our herd as intensively as we can. The main limit on this is that we have to sell you animals that are not inbred.
